THAT THERE WHITBY AND DARK ASSIMILATION Apr. 9th, 2009 @ 03:59 pm
Hello everyone

I've just realised that after the post party celebrations at Teresa Towers of our second album launch, I totally forgot to mention that there Whitby.

Well it is just one long party at Z0 HQ, between the pool parties and excessive drinking of fizzy pops, well you can understand how I lost track of time.

Then one of the showgirls nudged me in the back with her diamante high heel to remind me to put a posting on our LJ.

So here comes the science bit:

Zeitgeist Zero will be opening the show at that there Whitby Gothic Weekend on Friday 24 April, with Last Dance and Abney Park.  Saturday we shall get to see Razorblade Kisses, House of Usher and Diary of Dreams rocking by the sea side.

Also the lovely [info]nigelmouse interviewed us for his show [info]dark_radio which was great fun.

Must go now to remind the servants to put lots of Panda Pop cola in the  limo and get the showgirls some new tassels.

Goodbyes

Big Thanks Apr. 6th, 2009 @ 11:19 am
Hello

Thank you to everyone who came to our album launch party.

We had a great time and the night wouldn't have been such a success without the great crowd who came out to cheer us on.  Our new band members played an excellent show too, our bass player the lovely Bex Noire has only been in the band 6 months and already is an integral part of the band.  However the man of the day was our keyboard player the debonair James Grave, who has only been with us for 6 weeks and had never played live before.  Despite the nerves they both played an excellent show.

Our second album 'Dead To The World' is available to buy from our lovely friends at Music Non Stop and again we have negotiated a special price of £9.75.  The lovely Music Non Stop people work really hard providing the underground/alternative scene with music and merchandise, so please show your support and visit their shop.

Digital distribution will follow by the end of the month and will again be available in all your favourite digital shops like iTunes, Napster, Amazon etc.

All the best, Teresa Dead :)

Album Release Party :) - 3 April 2009 Mar. 4th, 2009 @ 04:11 pm
Hello Everyone

Finally, after a very long and difficult path in creating our second album we will be releasing it into the wild, in the darkest jungle of Leeds to fend for itself.  Well The Subculture club, which is fairly dark.

To celebrate we shall be having a party at Friday Flock with our friends the lovely Electra Glide.

Also it will be the first time our two newest members will be playing Leeds.  Our lovely bass player Bex Noire of two shows now and our handsome brand spanking new keyboard player James Grave (pictures to follow of Mr Grave on the web).

It's so hard finding new band members, especially ones with cool surnames. :)

The album comes in a funky digi pack (that's cardboard to you and me).  Dead To The World is our own brand of guitar driven electronics, varying in style from pop, rock'n'roll, blues with a pinch of ebm, metal and industrial.  It features 11 tracks for your listening pleasure and was mixed by John Fryer (NIN, HIM, Depeche Mode) and mastered by John Dent (Goldfrapp, Portishead, Led Zepplin).

As it is a launch party we shall we selling our album for a special price £8.  Also if you but can buy two items of merchandise for £15.  You know t-shirt, tie, second or debut album, any two for £15, plus we are giving away free badges. :)

If you can't make it then the album will be available from Music Non Stop and iTunes from early April.

A big thank you to everyone out there who has supported the band over the past few years, as without your encouragement we would have found it difficult to go on.

Many thanks and hoping to see you on Friday 3rd April.

Here we are again with our keyboard player ad. *sigh*  We've had lots of interest but unfortunately from people who think it's unreasonable asking them to attend rehearsals once a week. *shakes head*

So if anyone out there has can tickle the ivories and has nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon please email. :)

While looking for some info on a friend who came to see us play in Coventry on Saturday night I found two interesting things.

1) You can now by our MP3s from Amazon

2) We apparently have ring tones available to buy through a company called Myxer

That's a nice surprise.

Now you can have Zeitgeist Zero tinkling away from your trouser pocket. :D

However if you'd prefer to see us in the flesh then we are play this Sunday 14th December Day of Rock Charity Event in aid of S.O.P.H.I.E. at Carling Intake, Mansfield.

Hello everyone

I hope you’re all keeping well and are not too chilly.

All manner of activity has been taking place at Z0 HQ and I thought I’d just send you a quick update:

We have completed our second album Dead To The World which will be released in spring 2009. It was mixed by John Fryer (NIN, HIM, Depeche Mode, Ashbury Heights) and mastered by John Dent (Goldfrapp, Portishead, Led Zepplin) and varies from pop, to rock n' roll, to electronic to industrial. It will feature the usual mix of tracks to dance to, tracks to tap your feet to and special songs to bob your head to. Song snippets and a taste of the artwork can be found on our brand spanking new website www.zeitgeistzero.com

We have also negotiated a special deal with the lovely people at Music Non Stop to sell our debut album at the credit crunching price of £9.78 plus they also stock our full range of Zeitgeist Zero T-shirts and Band logo ties.

We now have a lady bass player, the lovely Bex Noire has joined the band. Having passed through the Zeitgeist Zero ‘gig simulator’ with flying colours she will be on stage for her first time adding some serious booty shaking bass this Saturday weekend, which brings me neatly along to our upcoming shows:

Saturday 6th December at Club Heresy, The Tuns, Coventry
Sunday 14th December Headlining Day of Rock Charity Event in aid of S.O.P.H.I.E. at Carling Intake Leisure, Mansfield.

All the best, Miss Dead :D

» Keyboard Player
After some 'interesting' enquiries we have still not found a keyboard player, so anyone who can tickle those ivories, get in touch. :D

» Z0 seek additional live keyboard player!!!! :D
Hello

Zeitgeist Zero are seeking to expand their current live line-up and at the moment we are looking for a person who can play piano/keyboards and sing backing vocals. You will work alongside our existing ivory tickler, Kerry Von Null who sadly only has one pair of hands.

The ideal person must be:

1) Be able to play piano to a reasonable standard, but like the excitement of synths.

2) Reliable, dedicated and able to attend rehearsals once a week.

3) Look damn good while doing the above. *winks*

Own transport an advantage, but not essential.

You don't have to like the same music as us and people from all musical backgrounds are welcome to present their different style.

To get in touch email: contact@zeitgeistzero.com

If you've ever wanted to sip pink champagne from a show girls tassle in the back of one of our many limos, now's your chance!

» The Weekend Rocked
Wow what a cool weekend!

Friday night we played The Appleby at Burton Upon Trent with the excellent Electra Glide and Violet Vortex. Then Sunday we rocked the Woolstock with the equally excellent, Manuscript, Spares and Dionysis.

Thank you to both DJ Daddycat in Burton and Paul in Leeds for putting us on and also making the world of live alternative music a lot more interesting and fun, both as a punter and a performer. :-)

Roll on Madrid gig... *bounces up and down*

» Hot Giggery
Hello again my cyber friends, hope you are all well.

We've been busy mining on the coal face of music and have produced some chunky black nuggets of funkiness. Two of these new tunes we shall be playing this weekend at :

Friday 30 May - The Appleby with Electro Slide and Violet Vortex
Sunday 1 June - Woolstock III with Manuscript, Spares and Dionysis

Then, as it looks like we might not see much in the way of sunshine, so we've decided to take our act to Madrid. We shall be Medievo Club on 6 June with the lovely Charlotte's Shadow. *clicking castanets* Ole!
Pop in and say hi if you're passing.

chicka chicka ahhh

Take care, Senorita Dead

Hello

I've been pestered for a while to start a Facebook account. I tried to register as Teresa Dead but it wouldn't allow that name. So I have registered as 'Teresa Corin Kerry' (but I still prefer myspace). Anyway for any of you Facebook users feel free to check us out on there.

It'll give me something else to look at while I'm ill with cold. :(

» Is it a coincidence 2008 rhymes with Great.
As many of you will know who read our live journal we've been rather quiet on the old blog front. Mostly because last year was horrible and mostly because we became hermits, locked in our studio making music.

Well so far 2008 is a much better year, so far we've had lots of exciting things happen including a photo shoot by Tony Rusecki the photographer of What Katie Did. We've been getting shows booked and traveled on a musical trip to Budapest.

Then this morning someone brought me in a copy of The Observer's Music Monthly magazine which featured lots of gothic people including me and Corin. We quoted Zeitgeist Zero as our favourite bands in shameless self promotion in their article on Goth.

I always find it amusing when I see goth described as a youth culture when it's not, just an alternative lifestyle. I always wonder if that's why they dismiss us and think of goth as a sad phase you grow out of. Especially seeing some of the goths in the mag had ages ranging from 20 to 60. Oh well...

Our second album will be out this year so hopefully our run of good luck will stay with us for a little while longer in 2008.

We'll be playing a show in Leeds next month too. It'll be great to play live again.

All the best, Miss Dead. xoxoxox
» Sound from hell!
Slimelight gig was a nightmare due to appalling sound engineering, We got off light compared to Screaming Banshee Aircrew who were true troopers and martyrs to the feedback.

In spite of the sound issues we met some fantastic people and enjoyed hanging out with the ever lovely SBA crew once again.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us and SBA on such a wet night and thanks for gritting your teeth and putting up with the sound issues.

Back to the cryogenic coffin for me.

Bestest,

Corin.
» Just like buses...
...you wait ages and then 2 come along at once.

That's the same for us with London.  We had never played the capital in the 4 years the band has been in existence. Then this year 2 London shows!  Gotham in May and then playing with the lovely Screaming Banshee Aircrew this Saturday 21 July at Slimelight. *laughs*

Better late than never....

Looking forward to playing with the great SBA and special thanks to them for asking us.

Apologies for being quiet of late but we're busy working on our second album, which means we have very little free time.  We've also had/have some problems with family, work, general shit and life affirming issues to deal with.  .

Saturday should be good though as we will be debuting a new song called 'Blood', a cheery song about what it's really like being in a band.  *laughs*

Take care everyone and see some of you soon hopefully.
